Together, We Keep Moving Forward

By Lucia Paz | International Cooperation

Although nearly two years have passed since the devastating DANA floods, many families in the affected communities are still facing the long road to recovery. At Mensajeros de la Paz, we remain deeply committed to standing alongside these communities, adapting our support to address their evolving needs and helping ensure that no one is left behind.

One of our ongoing initiatives is Teléfono Amigo, which continues to provide companionship and emotional support to older adults affected by the disaster. Through regular phone conversations and active listening, the program helps reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation, offering a vital source of connection and reassurance for many seniors.

At the same time, La Casita de Algemesí remains a welcoming and safe space for children in the Raval neighborhood. Here, boys and girls participate in a variety of educational, recreational, and social activities designed to support their well-being and development. From sports and outdoor games to arts, crafts, and creative workshops, these activities help children build confidence, strengthen relationships, and enjoy positive experiences as they continue to recover from the impact of the floods.

We will continue working closely with the communities of Valencia, providing support where it is needed most and responding to the challenges that remain. Your generosity makes this work possible.
