With support from you and GlobalGiving , we successfully conducted three workshops as part of the third phase of our project – “Rebuilding Children's Lives after the Chennai Floods”. The workshops conducted were on the topic of Empowerment and Preparedness for Disaster aimed at children of Vyasarpadi Slums in Chennai, India.
The workshops were conducted for three batches in three different months – September 2017, January 2018 and Feb 2018 catering to a total of 113 children. The broad areas covered were:
The essence of the program was to empower the children through life skills which can be used even in the most difficult situations; such as in the case of Chennai floods or any other natural disasters.
We plan to conduct workshops in March and April, and increasing our reach to 100 more children. Thanks to the support received, CRY has been able to continue working in the Vyasarpadi slum area and we hope to continue our efforts in the rehabilitation of the community.
Your donation, donors like you and support from GlobalGiving has made all of this possible. We count on your continued support to the cause.
With Gratitude,
Thanks & Regards,
Lydia Daniel
