So this is a bit of a difficult report to write, as the truth is, I think the building work is all complete but I’m not sure just yet. I’m expecting a report and photos back from Musotte as I write this, but with time differences and communication delays (common when working in Haiti) It’s looking like I would miss the deadline for this report. But I can promise that as soon as I receive the information, I will post what I hope will be the final report of this project.
In my last report, I wrote about the work nearing the end. Shortly after that report the concrete roof was installed and was an important milestone in the project. The remainder of the project was about finishing off the interiors of the classrooms, tidying the exterior and painting the buildings ready for pupils to return.
I very much look forward to sharing images of the completed school buildings as soon as I have them but for now I will share a few more images from the work that has been going on. The Baptist school in the town of Musotte, Southern Haiti, was ripped apart by Hurricane Matthew over a year ago. With so many houses and community buildings in the region destroyed, the limited ability of the authorities to repair buildings was totally overwhelmed. This project is really just a small part of the rebuilding process but will make a huge difference to the lives of hundreds of families in Musotte.
We are so thankful to GlobalGiving and everyone who has supported this project fo giving us the chance to help those who have lost so much during Hurricane Matthew. I look forward to sharing with you the rebuilt school in the very hear future. Thank you for your patience.
Merry Christmas from all of us here at HHA.
