Help us rebuild the groundskeeper's home and add a second floor to house long term volunteers! This building has been the cozy home for our groundskeeper and his family for over 10 years! But now the wood and bamboo have decayed. The family deserves a safe and more spacious home. We will also add a second floor to welcome long term volunteers. Volunteers help us by bringing all of their talent and experience and sharing with our teachers and students!
The groundskeeper and his family live on school property. They protect the buildings, keep the grounds and gardens clean and beautiful and are also a member of our work family and team. The house they live in is now over 10 years old. So, being made of bamboo and wood, much of it is now rotting with time. We are planning to rebuild the house and add a second floor to provide housing to volunteers in the future.
Rebuilding the house is a huge but necessary project for the school to continue functioning. Though our foundation invests primarily in programming, none of this would be possible without solid infrastructure. Also, the addition of the volunteer housing will help to promote one of our main goals, to create global citizens, by making it easier for volunteers from around the world to come stay with us and interact with our students and teachers.
Rebuilding the groundskeeper's house now will free up funding for the next ten years, ensuring that we can dedicate our time and energy to what is most important, the children.
