We are pleased to share an update on the construction of the two boarding houses in Asni, Morocco, led by Amis des Écoles. Significant progress has been made over the past months: work is currently underway on both the girls’ and boys’ boarding houses.
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we have successfully raised enough funds to complete the girls' boarding house, which will be finalized by September 2025. This facility will provide safe, quality accommodation for 500 rural girls, helping them access education without the burden of long and sometimes dangerous commutes.
However, we still urgently need to secure an additional $500,000 to complete the boys' boarding house, which will offer the same life-changing opportunities to another 500 rural boys. Without these funds, we risk delaying the opening of a facility that is critical to ensuring equal access to education for boys in the region.
Importantly, these two boarding houses are part of a historic initiative: the creation of Morocco’s first rural middle school and high school campus. In addition to the boarding houses, a middle and high school for 3,000 children is being built on the same site. This comprehensive campus will offer children from remote villages a real chance to pursue their studies in a supportive, secure, and inspiring environment.
