Challenge

The ongoing conflict in Yemen has devastated the educational infrastructure. Al-Thawra School was severely damaged by airstrikes, leaving hundreds of children without a safe place to learn. Compounding this, the suspension of teachers' salaries and rising extreme poverty have forced many families to pull their children out of school. Consequently, children are pushed into hazardous child labor to survive, and tragically, many become vulnerable to recruitment by armed groups. They are losing thei

Solution

Through GEFD's targeted reconstruction efforts, this $15,000 initiative will directly restore educational access. We will: Reconstruct and rehabilitate the damaged classrooms at Al-Thawra School to ensure structural safety. Provide essential learning materials and desks for the students. Offer targeted financial incentives to volunteer teachers to ensure the continuity of classes. By creating a secure and functioning school environment, we provide a vital alternative to the streets and armed

Long-Term Impact

Education is the foundation of community reconstruction. This project will safely return children to school, significantly reducing dropout rates, child labor, and militant recruitment. In the long term, it empowers a new generation with the knowledge needed to rebuild their communities, fostering peace and breaking the generational cycle of poverty.
