Greene Lamp has made it our duties to assist families that are still needing help from Hurricand Florence. Then the Pandemic hit and families who were already suffering started to feel the constraints of not being able to provide for their families. We ensured that we focused on the "forgotten" groups, like non-documented individuals. This demographic were afraid of seeking help in fear of ICE coming in and breaking up their families. I am Glad to report that we were able to assist schools that were underfunded and provided chromebooks for students who were unable to acquire technology for their education..
In one of the pictures below you will see the G. family. The father was laid off due to covid and the mother's shift were cut due to COVID. We were able to assist with their utilities, rent, chromebook and wifi for pre-school and school age children in the family. They were able to come to the food drives that we did bi-monthly and we assisted them by giving them more resources that were available to them from our community partners. The children were able to attend school and complete their assigned tasks, the parents stated that by helping them we were able to relieve them of the stresses they had about providing for their family.
You will Also find a picture with one of our Foster Grandparent, who is on a fixed budget, and was unable to acquire food for herself due to a high utility bill. With the donation, we were able to provide her with food for the month, ensuring that what was selected were high in nutrients and stuck to the main food groups. Thankfully, she did not have to go without food.
Greene Lamp is thankful for our partnership with GlobalGiving and our donors, because without them we would not be able to service so many families similar to the G. family. Thank you
