Even with the wake of Hurricane Florence two years in our past, families are still being negatively impacted. Families are living in homes with moldy walls, ceilings, and floors. Greene Lamp continues to provide assistance to those families still in need. While these families were still recovering from the hurricanes, Covid 19 hit the US and once again these families were impacted again along with thousands of other families. Greene Lamp immediately began assisting families whose lives were thrown off balance by the pandemic. In April 2020, the Agency began purchasing food and having bi-monthly food distributions in low income neighborhoods in Eastern North Carolina. As the pandemic continued to devastate families, Greene Lamp began providing even further assistance by assisting with rent and utility payments, groceries, medicines, PPE's, and household supplies. The GlobalGiving funds provided an avenue thru which Greene Lamp could assist these families.
