Thanks for your interest in the ReBuffalo effort!
As the Project Leader for ReBuffalo I am very excited to have an opportunity to participate in the Evoke Challenge on Global Giving. The ReBuffalo concept is based on two core concepts:
1. Collaboration is the most effective way to solve problems 2. The internet has vast untapped potential as a tool for collaboration
As it turns out, there are others who share these ideas about collaboration and the internet. Thanks to the online collaboration that took place through Urgent Evoke I now have the opportunity to move the ReBuffalo idea off the drawing board. Because of Urgent Evoke and the individuals who created it (Jane McGonigal and the World Bank) the ReBuffalo project has the opportunity to raise needed funding and work with people who have valuable experience in using the internet to benefit society. Ethan Zuckerman, Senior Researcher at Harvard's Berkman Center for Internet and Society, has already been extremely helpful. Thanks to Ethan I have begun to streamline my vision for ReBuffalo and I look forward to continued discussions with him as the project moves forward. I am also filled with anticipation for the upcoming Evoke Summit that will be held in Washington DC. It will be a great opportunity to do some old fashioned offline collaboration.
There is still much to be decided regarding the design and features of the ReBuffalo site, so I welcome any comments or constructive criticism regarding the project. If you would like to get involved in the ReBuffalo effort please contact me.
