Ray of Hope

Network for Human and Social Development, always appreciative of our patrons and grant implementation partners and our donors, has strived towards ensuring that our project "Ray of Hope" helps out-of-school children and provides an opportunity for them to become better, more independent, more emancipated individuals. This project is focused towards ensuring that all of them are benefiting from the work done towards their academic improvement, and inevitably, towards sustainable opportunities of livelihood.

To date, Maskeenabad now has 152 students, both boys and girls, enrolled and given education. This project has substantially improved their well being and has resulted in an improvement in their overall outlook.

We are grateful, genuinely grateful, to all of our donors - to us, your patronage, contributions, and sincere commitment to our cause has been a pivotal means of ensuring that these children will live long and prosper. We are also grateful to you for always believing in our cause and for constantly supporting us since 2020. These projects were made possible because of your constant appreciation.

Network for Human and Social Development is immeasurably grateful to you, the donor, for your benevolence and kindness. It has substantially helped us in providing for the health and well being of children enrolled in schools which are being supported by NHSD through grants and donations, especially donations given by GlobalGiving.

This becomes especially important because of the impact of the winters in Pakistan. Temperatures have substantially dropped in December and are expected to drop further in January. Many of the students who are enrolled in our schools are unable to afford means of protecting themselves against the cold. Many of them live in poverty struck situations and circumstances - they do not have access to gas which prevents them from having a heating mechanism in their own houses. They do not have electricity as an alternative to generating heat through electric heaters, and those that do have electricity do not use them because of the financial constraints associated with these mechanisms. Many of them use double layering to keep warm, often using equally thin cotton clothes to have some protection.

Donations provided through the GlobalGiving platform substantially helped in the procurement of jackets and blankets which were donated to our dear students. We also invited some of our GlobalGiving donors who were based in Pakistan to visit the institute.

This has been a significant stepping stone towards the well being of our students, many of whom are being provided free of cost education.

After the conclusion of the blanket and jacket distribution, the students were also given a hot meal.
