CAMGEW will work with boys and girls on how to use the raphia bamboo to produce items like chairs, benches, mats, beds, tables, picture frames, window, house ceilings, food crop storage facility and picture frames. Raphia nuts w to produce door blinds for in bars, restaurants etc Raphia palm fronds for brooms and house roof. Raphia bamboo used to produce beehives and also food storage facilities like corn band. Honey has a high market here and beehives can be made with local bamboos
Poverty is hitting hard in our community and everybody must fight it. Many children end their education after primary level. Jobs are rare. We need to create jobs. Raphia bamboo is present in abundance and is good for furniture. This is a potential we have. It is not exploited. This is a high source for jobs and income generation. Children need creative and innovative skills to unblock this potential and create jobs and wealth without depending on others. Yes our community can grow from bamboo.
Children will be trained on how to use bamboo in a creative and innovative way to produce craft needed in the community. The production of these crafwork will force them to think in meeting community needs and creating external markets for their crafts. The children will become entrepreneurs in craftwork from bamboos and will train others. They will create jobs for themselves and others. The learning process will be practical.
This will create entrepreneurs who will be job creators and not job seekers Children will grow up building wealth from income raise and this will fight poverty Children working together build solidarity spirit and this goes a long way to promote peace Community natural resources will be well used for the good of the community This will fight idleness in children and youths that also lead to deviant behaviour
