During Ramadan, the Deaf Welfare Awareness Foundation (DWAF) reached deserving Deaf and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) families across different regions of Pakistan with Ramadan ration and Iftar support.
Our field teams visited homes where many families were living in extremely difficult conditions. We met Deaf individuals who struggle to find stable employment and parents who were unable to provide regular meals for their children. Many families survive on daily wages or irregular income, while others have no source of income at all. For them, even meeting basic food needs is a daily challenge.
Through this project, DWAF distributed essential food packages containing staple items to help families observe Ramadan with dignity. Beyond delivering food, our visits allowed us to listen to their stories, understand their challenges, and remind them that they are not forgotten.
The smiles, prayers, and gratitude of the families we met reflected the true impact of this initiative. Their resilience despite hardship continues to inspire us.
This project reaffirmed the urgent need for continued support for Deaf and PWD families who often remain among the most underserved members of society. DWAF remains committed to reaching vulnerable communities across Pakistan and creating opportunities that lead to long-term independence and a better quality of life.
