Mathare Foundation is a community based organization that provides educational programs and mentorship for disadvantaged children and teens in one of the largest slums in Africa. Children and teens from Mathare are at incredible risk of pregnancy, drug and alcohol abuse, crime and prostitution. However, through hands-on training in photography, performing arts, and football, we are helping 60 boys and girls to build their confidence and discover new opportunities.
Mathare slums is a settlement of roughly 400,000 people where a vast majority of the population live under the poverty index, in houses made up of mud and corrugated iron sheets. Mathare Foundation operates slums. We work with children who face a lot of challenges such as crime, early marriages and pregnancies. We are in a tight financial need to cover some of the most urgent cost so as to enable that the operations of the organization are not affected.
Mathare Foundation at the time of this writing has urgent needs that need some financial assistance. The urgent need include monthly office rent, repairing of imarc desktop computer and camera, auditing fees and sign board for Mathare Foundation. The funds will assist us to cover our most urgent and stabilize our operations.
Mathare Foundation is a non-profit that trains young people in Photography, football and performing arts. The organization will regain stability in terms of its operation. The organization will be in good books since we will have most recent audited books. The repaired computer and camera will ensure that photography trainings have adequate equipment for trainings. The trainees will have a readily avail space for trainings since the monthly rent for the next two months will be covered.
