Challenge

The majority of women-owned businesses in TUSA are family businesses by nature and women are the motor of both family and business success. Poverty rate among these families is high. TUSA structures are male-dominated, yet women are carrying a lot of responsibilities, hence need for economic uplifting and inclusion. TUSA work uniqueness is in improving lives of beneficiaries by providing knowledge and support in touching and lifting vulnerable people where others have failed.

Solution

The objective of this project is to empower TUSA 100 women with entrepreneurship skills that include customer prioritisation, product and services marketing, financial management, business operations, adapting to change, and personal wellness.

Long-Term Impact

Through group formation of women in business. As a group, women will attract joint support due to their common goal, motivate, encourage and build each other's confidence. In groups, there is peer learning. Continuous counselling and health education to enable women to take care of themselves and their families with ease, especially on mental health. Through health education, women will be better placed to identify changes in their children, as some may be using drugs without their knowledge.
