Completed classrooms
Completed classrooms

The four new classrooms are completed at the Brightlingsea Academy in Ghana! Hopefully the pictures attached show you how fantastic they are and the impact of your funds. Thank you so very much for your donations which helped us achieve this.

Our 4 new classrooms are now completed, and 120 children are using them every day. It has been raining heavily – we have no leaks with our fantastic new roof.

A local painter has been working hard to make the new building colourful and inspiring.

Children like Kwadwo can continue to the next stage of their education with our new classrooms. Kwadwo has missed school with ill health. He was able to return a few weeks ago and he couldn’t believe how amazing his new classroom is. His teacher took a photo of his smile that day.

New chairs and desks have been delivered.

There was a small amount of sand and blocks left over from the build.

We have been able safeguard the education of 120 children. This means single parent families have been able to get out to work and start providing for their families.

90 % of children have no access to running water and 88% live without electric. Their food at school is a lifeline. 120 children eat 2 meals a day at school because of the new classrooms.

We now have ground floor classroom space to make sure disabled students are welcome and safe.

Our next project and the final stage of the school’s development is to build 4 further primary school classrooms on the first floor of our new building to help enrol another group of students who moved to the village with their families and out of the city centre after the Covid-19 Pandemic.
