Our project aims to address water security issues in the District of Dawasamu.
We have been able to increase the overall water storage capacity in many villages across several districts in Fiji, which have included the Island of Moturiki.
We are currently working with the District of Dawasamu and to date have installed 12 rainwater harvesting systems thanks to your amazing support.
The project objectives are to support and strengthen the participation of local communities in improving water and sanitation management.
To do this we:
Over the last six months, we have installed 5 rainwater harvesting tanks in villages in the Dawasamu area, our target is to install one tank every month.
We have also created new educational material which we distribute once the tank is installed to ensure community members understand the importance of maintenance and upkeep of the tanks so they will last for many years ad the water will be safe to use and benefit the whole community. The materials have been created to contain the essential information in a format that makes it easy to understand and that community members can use to educate fellow community members.
Water is a precious resource and harvesting water benefits communities. Your support helps to improve water accessibility for many.
Thanks for your ongoing support with your contributions we ca increase the number of rainwater tanks installed and ensure maintainace on the ones already installed.
We look forward to updating you on our progress.
