Rainwater Harvesting
The project aims to address water security issues in the District of Dawasamu.GVI has been able to increase the overall water storage capacity in many villages across several districts in Fiji, which have included the Island of Moturiki. GVI is currently working with the District of Dawasamu and to date have installed 12 rainwater harvesting systems. The project objectives are to :
sustainable long term infrastructure.
We are looking forward to starting working again with community members and working towards the objectives we have set with the headman from each village.
We are currently visiting villages to assess what rainwater harvesting may be needed, once assessments are completed we can use the information to install the tanks in villages whose needs are the greatest.
