Q2 2026 Rainwater Collection Systems Report
During the second quarter of 2026, Uganda Water Project installed 14 new rainwater collection systems, providing improved water access for an estimated 5,000 people.
Twelve of these systems were installed at schools, reaching approximately 4,500 students and community members, while two additional systems at other locations are estimated to serve 500 people.
These projects made a significant contribution to our work this quarter. Across all water projects, Uganda Water Project reached an estimated 19,900 people in Q2, meaning rainwater collection systems accounted for approximately one quarter of the people reached during the reporting period.
Our Q2 installations build on years of investment in rainwater collection. By the end of the quarter, Uganda Water Project had installed 1,040 rainwater collection systems—729 at schools and 311 at other locations. Together, these systems are estimated to serve 351,125 people.
We are grateful for the support that makes this work possible. Each new system expands access to water in the communities and institutions we serve, while contributing to our broader goal of sustainable water access across Uganda.
