Bridge for Development Organization plans to train 30 health care workers from 10 health centers in Addis Ababa. The health workers will learn how to provide quality and adolescent and youth friendly sexual health and family planning program approach and fill the supply side gaps. Following the training the health worker will work with improved strategies and program quality improvement indicators.
One of the reasons of high teenage pregnancies is low service provision (supply side) resulting from problems of low access, low quality, and low youth-friendly service provision. This project aims to fill the gaps in supply side namely, low access, quality, and youth-friendly family planning (FP) services in Addis Ababa in Kolfe Keranio subcity in 10 health centers through provider training. Most of these supply side gaps can be bridged through training of family planning providers and undertaking quality strategies and activities.
The trained health workers will use the improved approach user friendly family planning education, counseling and delivery of appropriate contraceptive. Through quality service the number of beneficiary youth and program satisfaction will be increase.
