PUT UP HEALTH FACILITY IN ZAMBULKURA FOR 10,000 PEOPLE (54492)
This is a report on project 54492 - Put up a Health Facility in Zambulkura for 10,000 people by Rescue and Restore Hope Zambulkura Ghana (RRHZ). The lack of easy access to health care services to the people of Zambulkura and several other neighboring communities with a combined population of 10000 people, necessitated a request by the people and accepted by RRHZ to build a 40 – bed capacity health facility and Health workers residence in Zambulkura to make health care easily accessible to the people in these deprived communities. Land for the construction of the facility has been provided by the chief of Zambulkura community. Though funds raised so far for the construction of the 40- bed capacity health facility and health staff residence is not sufficient, the funds received have been used to start the first phase of 2 rooms to serve as wards with each holding capacity of 8 beds. We in Rescue and Restore Hope consider the construction of this health facility in Zambulkura to be a critical need and require an urgent attention to save lives in the communities. On the 25th of June 2022 one of our volunteers, a Laboratory Technician working at the Baptist Medical Center in Nalerigu travelled to Zambulkura to monitor our malaria screenings and treatment, but his timely arrival in the community saved a ninety year old woman, who was sick and went into comma but mistaken to be dead by the community since they could not physically see her breathing and was about to bury her. However, our Volunteer checked and found her to have pulse, so he insisted she was not dead and helped to take her to the Nalerigu hospital where she was admitted at the emergency department, put on Oxygen, and treated. After some days she gained her consciousness and discharged from the hospital and is now back to the family. Despite that only the first phase of 2 rooms of the health facility has been constructed, during our malaria health screenings and treatments in Zambulkura we use the premise to carry out the exercise. When it is completed, it will also serve as immunization center, health education, provide antenatal services, deliveries among other health care services. We owe all the wonderful donors and GG team lots of gratitude for the support towards the construction of the health facility. Though there is a lot to be done before the completion and operationalization of the health facility, your donations are very much appreciated and together we shall work to complete the construction of the health facility and health staff residency to touch the lives of 10000 people in Zambulkura area. Once again Thank you all very much for your magnanimity Maxwell Tidow Koligu Founder, Rescue and Restore Hope Zambulkura Ghana
