Smart Osvita aimed to improve the psychological skills of 500 Ukrainian teachers and school psychologists by providing free training. We offer science-based training programs, which include widely recognized techniques such as EMDR, CBT, and Mindfulness, adapted to the Ukrainian context. Each training is held by practical psychologist with a degree. Educators will gain theoretical knowledge, methods, and tools for providing initial pre-medical psychological self-help and assistance to children.
The war in Ukraine profoundly impacted mental health in education. Symptoms include traumatic memories, anxiety, hypervigilance, and avoidance of triggers. Thousands of institutions were damaged or destroyed. Over 450 children died, and 867 were injured. Many exhibit fear, withdrawal, depression, and loss of interest. Anxiety, irritability, concentration difficulties, disrupted sleep, and nightmares follow. Mental health is crucial for well-being and learning.
Participants will gain knowledge of child development, trauma types, and post-traumatic symptoms across different age groups. They'll understand children's reactions and behaviors after trauma, learn active listening techniques, stabilization methods, and resourceful approaches. Guidance on supporting children during and after war-related events will be provided. Practical skills in pre-medical psychological assistance, with recommendations and exercises for stabilization and resourcefulness.
