You've helped us reach over 1,492 individuals - Thank you!
By Team NYF | Nepal Youth Foundation
Thanks to support from friends like you, NYF’s Ankur Counseling Center conducted 1,408 individual counseling sessions and 368 group counseling sessions – reaching a total client number of 1,492 individuals last fiscal year! While most of the counseling sessions were done in-person, some took place online due to occasional increases in COVID cases.
These sessions addressed a variety of challenges the kids were struggling with: anxiety, adjustment or attachment issues, peer pressure, trauma, depression, and so much more.
In addition to these counseling sessions, Ankur also conducted 45 different trainings and workshops for over 890 youth participants. This program is truly making such a difference in our community – and we’re so grateful for your support to make it possible!

Your continued support makes such a difference - Thank you!
By Nepal Youth Foundation | Project Leader
Our team of counselors at Ankur Counseling Center have been incredible these last few months.
On top of providing both group and individual counseling sessions to children, our counselors also conducted several training sessions to caregivers and teachers from different communities and organizations. During these sessions, the attendees learned basic “psychosocial first aid” skills to better serve the groups they work with.
Another recent accomplishment we’re proud to share includes the continuation of counseling sessions aimed specifically for trainees at NYF’s vocational school. Favorite topics include goal setting and decision making, team building, women’s empowerment, creative movement therapy, and stress management.
Ankur Counseling Center is such an important part of NYF’s programming -- benefiting both individuals and communities alike. We are so grateful for support from friends like you for making it all possible!

Workshops, peer counseling, and more: Your support helps us accomplish so much!
By Nepal Youth Foundation | Project Leader
Thanks to support from friends like you, Ankur Counseling Center has been able to conduct a few of its own standalone projects in this last year, in addition to their ongoing work.
For example, they completed six workshops for schoolteachers on self-care and recognizing warning signs in children, allowing for child protection, psychological first aid, and suicide prevention. Two sessions were held for government hospital staff and health-focused NGOs on the importance of psychosocial counseling.
Another project is their ongoing work with a Buddhist nunnery to establish a peer counseling program for its school-aged residents, allowing members of this unique community to care for one another from a place of deep mutual understanding. In this program, 15 nuns are learning to be peer counselors to address and respond to psychological first aid, bullying, suicide prevention, and more.
Thank you and dhanyabad for making all of this possible!
