Solar Water Supply Project for Awala Village – Quarterly Report
Project Overview
The Solar Water Supply Project aims to provide clean and sustainable water to 4,000 residents of Awala Village using solar-powered pumps. This initiative addresses the community’s water scarcity challenges by harnessing renewable energy, reducing reliance on manual fetching and unreliable water sources. Once fully operational, the system will ensure consistent access to safe drinking water, improving health and livelihoods in the village.
Current Progress
Despite the project’s potential, progress has stalled this quarter due to a lack of funding. No donations were received, delaying the procurement of essential components such as solar panels, pumps, and storage tanks. Community engagement and training sessions on system maintenance have also been postponed. Without immediate financial support, the project risks further setbacks, prolonging water insecurity for Awala Village.
Challenges Faced
The primary challenge this quarter has been securing donations to advance the project. Limited awareness and outreach efforts may have contributed to the funding shortfall. Additionally, rising costs of solar equipment have increased the budget gap. The delay not only affects installation timelines but also diminishes community morale, as villagers remain without a reliable water source.
Next Steps and Appeal for Support
To revive the project, urgent fundraising efforts are needed. Partnerships with NGOs, corporate sponsors, and individual donors will be prioritized to secure the necessary resources. The project team will also intensify awareness campaigns to highlight the initiative’s impact. We appeal to stakeholders to contribute to this life-changing intervention, ensuring Awala Village gains access to sustainable water in the coming months.
