The project will construct: 1. 4 NUMBER OF HUMAN DRINKING STANDS for water consumption. 2. ANIMALS' DRINKING TROUGH where 1,000 animals and birds will have water to drink in the trough 3. SOLAR SUBMERSIBLE OVERHEAD TANK: 2,000 liters of water/day will be erected. 4. 2.6KW OF SOLAR ARRAY FARM AND CONTROL ROOM to power the solar submersible machine 5. TREE NURSERY BED: 10,000 tree seedlings capacity will be established to restore extinct native trees in the village.
New humanitarian crisis is emerging in the state of Zamfara. In 2019, more than 10,000 houses, shops and silos in the state were reportedly destroyed due to violent attacks. Incidents of kidnapping and robbery have been reported according to European Union Agency for Asylum. The State is facing the worst humanitarian crisis due to armed banditry and cattle rustling. Over 4,000 People of Awala Zango village have no access to portable drinking as children travel for kilometers in search of water
CREACC NG will provide Solar energy system in the village with a solar submersible water pumping of 2,000 liters a day for drinking. We will also construct a livestock's drinking trough where the village's cows and other animals will have water to drink. We will as well construct a tree nursery in the center to mitigate the impact of climate change and restore ecosystems and native species of trees. The solar equipment include photovoltaic, blocks, head channel and overhead tank will be provided
Expected long term impact: 1. Reduce poverty and increase socio-economic activities of the rural populace 2. Reduce water related bone diseases in the village 3. Help reduce early marriage and abuse of children 4. Restore native trees, drought and halt land degradation in the community. 5. Reduction of air pollution due to fossil fuel consumption and improvement of air quality. 6. Improve and provide access to clean filtered water. 7. Better conservation of ecosystem and food products.
