When I asked the people of Mundaguda village what life was like before they received a water well, I learned that for as long as they could remember they had dug holes in the ground until water appeared – after which they would cover the water to allow the dirt they stirred up to sink to the bottom. They had to wait for 24 hours before they could drink the water – and always with the risk that the water was contaminated with pathogens from animals that drank from the same water hole and poisonous insects. But today they have access to clean water 24/7 from a well we constructed right in their village, disease from contaminated water is a thing of the past, and their children are thriving. All this was made possible by donations from people just like you.
