The project will provide life skills for 400 single mothers who otherwise will have little chance of improving their social and economic situation. The skills the project will provide will include various entrepreneurial activities that they can do like dress making, gardening, raising of pigs and goats, food processing and vending, massage therapy, among others.
Single mothers have very few chances in life here. They need to take care of their children and sometimes taking care of their parents too. Finding gainful employment for them is difficult and they are considered second class citizens in their communities.
The project will provide much-needed entrepreneurial skills to poor single mothers and using the resources from their communities as starting point for them to start their own gainful employment and with pump-priming support from us.
Improvement of the well-being of single teenage mothers will mean improving their social and economic situation as well as enhancing their dignity in their communities.
