A Little Extra Love for New Moms and Their Babies

Through our Baby Essentials project, we support new mothers and their babies at our local maternity hospital in Gqeberha, South Africa. For some mothers, their baby arrives and they have almost nothing to take home, no warm blanket, no clothing, and very few of the basic items a newborn needs.
As a charity organisation, we put together gift parcels filled with essential items for both mothers and their babies. Each parcel contains practical newborn essentials such as clothing, blankets and toiletries, along with personal care items for the mothers.
A few times a year, we visit our local maternity hospital to distribute these much needed parcels to mothers who need them most. We are currently preparing our next distribution over the coming weeks.
Receiving one of these parcels at the hospital can mean so much more than the items inside. For a mother already facing the uncertainty and exhaustion of those first days, it can bring relief, dignity and hope. Instead of worrying about how she will provide for her baby, she can focus on bonding with and caring for her newborn.
Sometimes, a small gift can change the way a mother experiences those precious first few weeks, turning a time that could be filled with worry into one filled with hope, love and the joy of being a new mother.
