Hello Supporters!
Sorry our update this time is a little late and that is because we have all been out and about in the field installing new water filtration systems to homes and school in rural communities. This has been so exciting for us and it was all made possible through your donations, every penny really does count!
We have now used all the funds donated but hundreds of people now have filtered and safe drinking water because of you so thank you!
Our work is so critical in Peru as out of the 32 million people in peru it is estimated that at leasr 16 million people, if not more, still lack access to clean reliable water. This is over 48% of the population so the issue is huge and we have a long way to go but we are not intimidated by this number because every donation and every filter system we install goes a long way to making this stat decrease. It's going to take time but together we can do it and that is why tomorrow (Wednesday 12th July) is so important to us, GlobalGiving will be matching every donation over $100 while funds last. This means every new donation tomorrow will be increased allowing us to do more.
With this in mind we kindly appeal to you tomorrow to share our project on social media and with your wider network as together we can raise more funds. Please save the date and help us drive donations to our project on this special day tomorrow.
Thank you,
Rich
Introduction
A gift to our project will help us to focus on water conservation to improve the lifestyles of the whole community and provide sustainable access to clean water. In the long run, this project hopes to generate environmental awareness about the scarcity of Peru's natural resources, promote green infrastructure, mindfully conserve water, especially during these very stressful and uncertain times.
Report
This project aims to provide the locals in Peru with access to clean water for drinking and sanitation, as well as conserve the basins that are responsible for their water supply. By implementing infiltration ditches, protecting the springs, supporting terrace recovery and initiating reforestation efforts we hope to make their water supply sustainable and safe for locals as well as the tourists who visit the area. $10 supports a family with water for one week.
Please remember the little by little campaign in April where if you donate up to $50, GlobalGiving will match it at 50%.
Thank you for your support
Introduction
2.5 million people lack access to clean water in Peru and there is a huge amount of pressure put on the already weak water supply due to the high demand for use in agriculture and by the tourism industry, which is vital to the economy of the area.

The search for new approaches to more effectively manage the country’s limited water supply has led many high-level officials in the Government of Peru and local water service providers to look at a very old solution — nature itself. Better management of forests and wetlands, for example, can help ensure cleaner and more reliable water supplies and provide a buffer against flooding and landslides. We are working with local partners to assist us in implementing this new strategy for managing rural water supplies.
As 2022 kicks off we are excited to announce that our project in Peru (funding permitted) will be expanding. 15% of the population (5 million citizens) still do not have access to running safe drinking water. The good news is the Government is now aware and taking this issue seriously but we still need charities and projects to support their efforts.
Our project plans are to expand into communities in Peru to install more safe water drinking tanks and provide filtration systems to communities to allow access to safe drinking water. We will be transitioning our team priorities over the next quarter to fundraising as to ensure this project is able to be successful in 2022 we need to raise $12,000 minimum.
We are excited and ready to go and we hope that our supporters Join Us in our mission to really transform Peru and the communities.
