Rehabilitating Life by Restoring Eyesights
Respected Supporters and Well Wishers
Heartiest Greetings from NBJK!!
Non-availability & non-affordability are the main reasons why there is a lack of quality eye care in rural India. Many people who are blinded by treatable cataracts cannot reach hospitals or eye clinics for treatment. In many places, people who are blind think it is a matter of course. They don’t even realize that something can be done. The loss of sight can destroy a person's livelihood – or even life itself. We NBJK with all of your support helping these people by providing free cataract surgery at LNJP eye hospital. We are very grateful to share this project report among all of you who have supported the poor and deprived people of our community.
“Return to work with restored vision” A case of Mahendra
Brief Description:
Mahendra, 56 is the poor blacksmith and is the main bread-earner in the family along with his son. He has one son and four daughters. All daughters are married. He lives with his son. A cataract developed in his eye so he was very worried as deteriorating vision meant he wouldn’t be able to earn a living or take care of himself and his family. Due to blindness, he had to stop all work shifting the entire burden of earning a livelihood to his son.
After surviving one year he joined LNJP eye camp organised by NBJK and underwent the surgery at LNJP eye hospital. His blurry vision became a thing of the past. He is now contributing to the family's income as before. Now he says,” I can't express my gratitude for being able to see again. Now I don't have to be dependent on anyone. I manage to do all my work on my own.” He and his family are very happy now. He is very thankful to Global Giving and Donors for their kind and generous support.
None of the operation work could happen without your generosity. People understand that their eyesight was restored because someone far away sent a generous gift. They say thank you with heartfelt emotion.
We thank you for your support that has made it possible for so many people to see again.
