Jharkhand, is the second poorest state of the country with extremely poor medical facilities. Even the prevalence rate of blindness is 1.40% which is much above the National average of 0.8%. The major cause of blindness is Cataract. Villagers are in the state of being blind due to poor financial condition and unaccessibility.
One of the victims of Cataract was Yenpi Devi also. She was leading a miserable life suffering with cataract for the past 2 years. She was identified of cataract in the Village Screening camp being organised by Nav Bharat Jagriti kendra in her village. She was referred to the base hospital for treatment. After cararact surgery her vision is restored and she can carry her work like earlier and support her family financially. Yenpi Devi collects firewood from the forest and sells it in the local market for supporting her family.
She expresses her sincere and deepest gratitude to the noble support of donors and hospital staff who restored her vision and gave her a new life.
There are many more Yenpi Devi who are waiting for help and support to see and visualise this beautiful world and lead a fortunate life like ours. Your constant support will help us to reach many more in need and We thank you for your continuous support towards our goal of restoring vision of the needy and marginalised.
