This project will provide ventilators for rural hospitals in Ghana to improve emergency and critical care services for patients with severe respiratory conditions. Many rural healthcare facilities lack life-saving ventilators needed to support patients experiencing breathing difficulties caused by serious illnesses, trauma, or medical emergencies. This project will strengthen critical care capacity and help save lives in underserved communities.
Rural hospitals in Ghana often operate with limited critical care equipment and inadequate emergency response resources. Patients with respiratory failure, severe infections, complications during surgery, or other critical conditions may not receive the respiratory support they urgently need due to the absence of ventilators. This contributes to preventable deaths and poor healthcare outcomes.
This project will supply ventilators and related respiratory support equipment to selected rural hospitals across Ghana. Healthcare workers will also receive training on ventilator use, patient monitoring, and emergency respiratory care to ensure safe and effective treatment for critically ill patients.
The project will improve emergency healthcare services, increase survival rates for critically ill patients, and strengthen rural hospital capacity. Communities will benefit from better access to life-saving respiratory care without the need for long-distance referrals. Over time, the project will help improve critical care systems and overall healthcare delivery in rural Ghana.
