Dear Alhassan donors, supporters and believers,

Our “Source of Income” project branches into 2 subprojects: employment and SMEs. Thanks to your generous donations in the past 3 months we were able to fund 20 new “Source of Income” projects throughout 27 governorates, focusing on underprivileged areas, to people with mobility issues. Beneficiaries can run these businesses themselves and earn their living. We’ve also sent our monitoring representatives to previous beneficiaries to monitor their progress and ensure that their businesses are still going as planned. We stay true to our mission by helping the physically challenged live with dignity and be financially independent.

We’d like to share an inspiring success story whose protagonist, with admirable grit and willpower, changed his own life. We can proudly say that we were just the stepping stone on his way to self-sufficiency.

Hany, our protagonist, is a 34-years-old quadriplegic man who didn’t get any education after the age of 14 due to his mobility issue. His willpower was evident from when we first met him. We helped him start a business that was then worth 11k EGP (690 USD) but he increased his assets; bought the adjacent empty spot and made it a part of his convenience store, bought extra fridges to sell beverages and frozen goods and added a detergents section. Now, his business is worth 40,000 EGP (around 2400 USD)!

As you can see in the picture below, Hany added ramps to make his store fully accessible. Hany then applied for our “Customized Wheelchair” project and donated 6,000 EGP (around 370 USD) in recognition of our help in his journey.

We would like to thank each and every one of you for your support. We urge you to continue supporting our cause and stay our enthusiastic donor through subscribing to a monthly recurring donation which will help securing more funds to help wheelchair users in Egypt be financially independent.

If you have any job opportunities or know someone who can help with employment please don’t hesitate to contact us at: source.income@alhassan-fdn.org
