This project will provide Indonesian underprivileged youth with vocational training on several topics including coding, programming, 21st-century skills, entrepreneurship, and work readiness to prepare them to enter the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0).
In the 21st century, it is imperative youth are taught and understand digital literacy skills. Joko Widodo, President of the Indonesia Republic mentioned by 2030 an estimated 9 million digital talents are needed to prepare Indonesia for Industry 4.0. Therefore, Indonesia's workforce is nowhere near where it needs to be. If the Indonesian workforce does not have the skills to successfully navigate these traditions, they will miss out on potential productive and well-paid job prospects.
Donations received will support YCAB's aim of vitalizing underprivileged youth to become self-reliant through education and economic empowerment (bringing them from subsistence to sustainable livelihood.) This project will support disadvantaged youth in obtaining the education needed to strive in the 21st century, for example, vocational training courses targeting basic coding.
Education is essential to enable higher-paying and stable employment. YCAB's digital literacy project will prepare high school students with coding skills (a sought-after skill in Industry 4.0.) This project aims to create an impact by empowering Indonesian youth against rising unemployment and poverty rates during the post-pandemic recovery, with our long-term goal of reducing the poverty cycle by providing quality education.
