This project provides revolutionary, nutrient-rich Plumpy'nut to children in the DR Congo and gives children suffering from the worst form of malnutrition a chance at life.
The DR Congo has been troubled by civil conflict, poverty and disease. The recent world economic crisis means money and food has run out. Nearly 4,000 children face acute malnutrition. Plumpy’nut® is the most effective way to treat severe acute malnutrition. A peanut paste packed with calories and nutrients, Plumpy’nut® transforms a child in a matter of weeks. Unfortunately, the supply has been unable to keep up with the need.This project will supply Plumpy’nut® during this critical time.
Edesia's Plumpy’nut® will be distributed to provide the essential calories and nutrients that a starving child needs to survive. Children will ultimately recover, gain weight, build stronger immune systems, and have healthy futures.
