Provide opportunities for 1000 girls out-of-school

Challenge

Further, Morocco is plagued by numerous socio-economic issues manifested in high unemployment- and drop-out rates, male gender bias as well as urban bias; diminished opportunities that inevitably lead to a lack of self-efficacy and self-worth. One of the major causes of youth's growing doubts in their abilities is Morocco's high unemployment rates. Unemployment reinforces their feeling of malaise especially within the family that always thought its youth were "useless."

Solution

TIBU is instilling a sense of self-efficacy and belonging in the girls of Morocco's disenfranchised communities. Through access to sports and employment, TIBU is building a generation of youth from underprivileged communities that have self-worth and competent job skills. TIBU developed a series of interventions that address the lack of useful activity and learning opportunities for the most disadvantaged youth girls, helping them become active contributors to their families and communities.

Long-Term Impact

Through the project: -1000 Girls will developed the necessary skills to occupy positions primarily related to or around sport. Through this project, the beneficiaries will be able to pursue careers as sports coaches, sports managers or even entrepreneurs in the field of education through sport. -100.000 Teens in Middle-School will benefit from the activities related to sport and nutrition organized by our Girls Changemakers.
