New Mothers Need Protection From Malaria

By Joy Ojochogwu Etubi | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

We sincerely thank all our donors for their kindness and support toward the Provide Mosquito Nets for 1,500 New Mothers project. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and gives hope to vulnerable mothers and newborn babies living in high-risk communities.

However, the donations received so far are still not enough to begin the project, and more support is urgently needed to start the first phase of mosquito net distribution activities.

Many new mothers living in urban slums and underserved communities continue to face high exposure to malaria because they lack access to insecticide-treated mosquito nets. Without proper protection while sleeping, both mothers and newborn babies remain vulnerable to mosquito bites that can lead to serious illness, pregnancy complications, and even death.

Malaria continues to place major pressure on low-income families who already struggle with healthcare costs and poor living conditions.

This project is designed to provide 1,500 insecticide-treated mosquito nets directly to new mothers in vulnerable communities. The distribution will also include simple education on proper net use and maintenance to help families use the nets effectively and safely.

With the right support, more mothers and babies can sleep safely, reduce their risk of malaria infection, and improve their health during the important early months after childbirth.

We remain grateful for the support received so far and hopeful that additional donations will make it possible to begin this important maternal and child health project soon. In future reports, we hope to share updates and photos from the first phase of distribution activities.

Thank you once again for your kindness and continued support.

Sincerely,

Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
