This project provides urgent healthcare and psychosocial support to 1,000 women displaced by Boko Haram insurgency, Fulani herders-farmers conflicts, and gender-based violence (rape, killings) in northern Nigeria. Thousands of traumatized women now reside in overcrowded IDP camps, lacking access to medical care, trauma counseling, and maternal health services. Our mobile clinic delivers free medication, mental health support, prenatal care, and rape crisis interventions directly to these women.
Women in northern Nigeria flee Boko Haram raids, Fulani-farmer violence, and mass rape, only to face starvation and disease in cramped IDP camps. Destroyed clinics, unsafe roads, and stigma block access to healthcare. Untreated injuries, PTSD, and high-risk pregnancies threaten lives. Survivors of sexual violence lack trauma care, and children born from rape face rejection. Without urgent support, cycles of trauma and generational poverty deepen.
This project deploys mobile clinics to IDP camps in Benue, Abuja, and Nasarawa, delivering urgent healthcare and trauma care directly to 1,000 women. Free medical screenings treat injuries and infections, while trained counselors provide PTSD support. Prenatal checkups and safe delivery kits reduce maternal deaths. Rape survivors receive emergency contraceptives, STI prevention, and stigma-free counseling. Medicines, hygiene supplies, and nurses' expertise combat disease outbreaks.
This project helps women heal physically and emotionally so they can care for their families, earn income, and rebuild their lives. When mothers survive childbirth and infections, fewer children become orphans. Counseling helps women process trauma, reducing cycles of violence and despair. Survivors of rape gain support to reintegrate into communities, protecting their children from rejection. Training local nurses in mobile clinics also builds lasting healthcare skills for future crises.
