Many people with hearing loss in Ghana cannot afford hearing aids because of financial hardship. Without appropriate support, hearing difficulties can affect communication, education, employment, and social participation. Adjah Cancer Support Ghana aims to help 100 people from low-income households access hearing assessments, suitable hearing aids, and basic fitting support, depending on available funding.
People with hearing loss may struggle to communicate with family members, participate in school, find employment, or engage in community activities. For people living in poverty, the cost of hearing assessments, hearing aids, batteries, and follow-up care can be unaffordable. As a result, some continue to experience preventable communication barriers and social isolation. Children and adults with untreated hearing difficulties may miss important educational, employment, and social opportunities.
Adjah Cancer Support Ghana aims to support 100 people from low-income households who experience hearing loss. The project will seek to arrange hearing assessments through qualified providers and help eligible beneficiaries obtain appropriate hearing aids. Depending on available funding, support may also cover fitting, basic instruction on device care, batteries, and follow-up services.
The project aims to improve communication, independence, and social inclusion for 100 people with hearing loss. Access to suitable hearing aids and follow-up support may help beneficiaries participate more fully in family life, education, employment, and community activities. By reducing financial barriers to hearing care, the project hopes to improve quality of life, strengthen relationships, and create better opportunities for people living with hearing difficulties.
