This project will provide hearing aids for 500 children in Ghana with hearing impairments to improve communication, learning, and social development. Many children with hearing loss are unable to access hearing devices due to cost and limited availability of specialized audiology services. This project will help children hear clearly, participate in school, and engage fully in their communities.
Hearing impairment among children often goes untreated in Ghana due to lack of access to affordable hearing aids and diagnostic services. Without proper support, children face challenges in speech development, education, and social interaction, leading to long-term learning disadvantages and exclusion from opportunities.
This project will provide hearing screening, fitting of hearing aids, and follow-up support for 500 children. It will work with healthcare professionals to ensure proper diagnosis and fitting, and provide basic training for caregivers and teachers on supporting children with hearing loss.
The project will improve communication skills, school performance, and social inclusion for children with hearing impairments. Beneficiaries will gain better access to education and opportunities for personal development. Over time, this project will help reduce disability-related barriers and improve inclusive education in Ghana.
