This project will provide basic health screening services for 300 children in rural Ghana to help detect common health issues early and improve child wellbeing. Many children in rural communities do not receive regular medical check-ups due to limited access to healthcare services. This project will bring screening services closer to schools and communities to identify health problems early and connect children to needed care.
Many children in rural Ghana are living with undiagnosed health conditions such as malaria, eye problems, malnutrition, infections, and dental issues. Due to limited access to healthcare facilities and financial constraints, parents are often unable to take their children for regular medical check-ups. As a result, many health issues go untreated, affecting children's growth, learning, and school attendance.
This project will organize health screening sessions for 300 children in selected rural schools and communities. Medical professionals will conduct basic checks including general health assessments, vision screening, and nutritional status evaluation. Children identified with health issues will be referred to appropriate health facilities for further treatment and follow-up care.
Early detection of health problems will improve children's overall wellbeing, school attendance, and learning outcomes. By identifying conditions early, children will receive timely treatment, reducing long-term complications. The project will also increase health awareness among parents, teachers, and communities, leading to improved child health practices over time.
