3rd QUARTER REPORT

By Nuhu Alimatu Sadia | DIRECTOR

INTRODUCTION

The One Child, One NHIS initiative is a flagship program at Hereafter Ghana aimed at facilitating access to healthcare for children, pregnant women and the aged by ensuring that every child, pregnant women and the aged in our target communities is registered under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

In the third quarter, Hereafter Ghana visited two (2) communities namely Jantong Wulanyili and Kumbung Zoonayili in the Salga North District and Kumbungu District.

This report outlines the number of beneficiaries of each community and the total number of beneficiaries reached through the program. The report also outlines some key challenges faced by the team during the registration process.

OBJECTIVES OF THE NHIS MEMBERSHIP CARD REGISTRATION EXERCISE

  • To increase NHIS coverage among children in various communities.
  • To facilitate both new registrations and renewals of NHIS cards for children.
  • To enhance awareness of the importance of health insurance in underserved communities.
  • To foster collaboration between Hereafter Ghana, the NHIS Tamale Metro Office, and local community stakeholders.

JANTONG WULANYILI

At the end of the NHIS registration exercise at Jantong Wulanyili, the team had completed the process of  179 freshregistrations and 138 renewals, bringing the total beneficiaries to 317.

This included pregnant women, children and the aged with more registrations from children.

KUMBUNG ZOONAAYILI

This registration process did not only serve beneficiaries of Kumbung Zoonaayili but also consisted of a cluster of small nearby communities. These communities included Tignoring, Gupanarigu, Nwodua, and Dulzugu.

At the end of the registration process, there were a total of 129 fresh registrations and 130 renewals. This brought the total number of beneficiaries who participated in the registration exercise to 259 people.
