Dear Friends and Supporters of Global Family Village Nepal
We are very happy to inform you that after the successful implementation of our project in Bungamti we have recently decided to expand our "Home and Community for Orphans In Nepal" project to a new location. In this regard, GFV-N has partnered with Lama Tole Kriyashil Mahila Samuha (LTKMS)—a women’s group, which is proactively working against the use of alcohol, wife battering and gambling at Samundra Devi Village, Nuwakot. The new project site is located at the northern side of the Kathmandu valley. Samundra Devi Village in Nuwakot is an adjoining district of Kathmandu valley. It takes about two hours drive from the main city of Kathmandu to reach there. Over 90 percent of the residents of this village is comprised of Lamas—one of the major ethnic minorities in Nepal.
Several rounds of meetings were held between the GFV-N and the women’s group in course of identifying the local partner to implement the program. The GFV-N board members have also paid visits to the project site and observed the situation and discussed with the local people, especially members of the women’s group, local teachers, School Management Committee members, local political and social work leaders. The members of LTKMS group also paid a visit to GFV-N’s first project site—Bungamati to learn more about GFV Model of childcare. In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and an agreement between GFV-N and LTKMS have been signed to implement the program in Samundra Devi Village, Nuwakot. After signing the papers the LTKMS group mentioned that they are excited to partner with GFV-N so that they can make their village a better place to live for everyone including orphaned and abandoned children.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to you all for your kind support to our efforts in supporting orphaned and abandoned children in Nepal. And we look forward to your continued support in the days to come.
Namaste!
