Dear Partners,
The “Provide Clean Water to Rural Communities in Kumbo” project, spearheaded by the Reconciliation and Development Association (RADA), has faced significant delays due to limited financial resources. Despite the urgency and the community’s pressing need for clean, accessible water, the project has made only minimal progress since its launch.
Initial efforts led to the construction of three water catchments; however, the completion of two additional catchments and eight planned storage tanks remains on hold. These facilities are essential for improving the health and living conditions of over 6,000 residents, including schoolchildren, patients at local health centers, and vulnerable groups in several villages.
The absence of clean water continues to expose communities to preventable diseases, increases household burdens, and affects vital services such as education and healthcare. Currently, So far $52 has been raised towards the $50,000 target on the GlobalGiving platform, significantly hampering the implementation timeline. Despite these challenges, RADA remains committed to the project’s mission and continues to actively seek partnerships, donations, and grants to revive and scale up its impact.
The organization is confident that with timely support, it will be able to resume construction and expand water access to reach all intended beneficiaries. We continue to brace for funding opportunities and appeal to donors and partners to support this life-saving initiative, which has the potential to transform entire communities by ensuring their basic right to safe water.
