Dear EWB-JAX Supporters -
Thank you to everyone who has helped on our project over the years. You have made our time in Guatemala a success and have helped bring clean water to schools in three neighboring communities. This would not have been possible without your support. Over the last few months our chapter has considered the impact that we have made in this region and we are pleased with the progress. We were able to bring sustainable solutions to water and sanitation challenges to this area. For many reasons we are deciding to place the Guatemala projects on a status of "monitoring." This does not mean that we are finished in this area. We want to make sure that our projects last and are a value to the community and to our donors. This means that we are not going to initiate new projects for these communities. We will continue to travel to the region and we will continue to evaluate the success of our projects. If changes are needed in order that they function correctly we wil make those changes. We have developed a deep love for the people of Guatemala and we want to make sure that our projects continue to serve them well. However, we are going to focus our design skills a little farther to the East. We have identified a community in Nahuaterique, Honduras that is struggling to develop a water collections system. Please stay tuned here and to our website as this project unfolds. Great things are happening. Thank you for being a part of them!
