This project is of extreme importance to serving humanity. By providing Clean Water to approx. 500 families in extreme far areas of Thar Desert. *(an average family size is 2 to 3 Adults + 4 to 5 Children = 8 Persons). Deep water-well's will be dug, and provided with a "hand-pump" for smooth operation, to the 10 villages. A regular maintenance is necessary every year to maintain the serviceability of these wells.
1. A report by Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) reveals that 44% of the total population in Pakistan is without access to safe drinking water whereas in rural areas 90% of the population lacks such access. 2. In result of poor water and sanitation, estimated 97,900 people die every year in Pakistan, and 54,000 children under age of 5 in Pakistan die from diarrhea caused by poor water and sanitation services. In 2013, the child mortality rate was 42%. http://www.ohchr.org
Where there was not a single drop of clean water available, we have installed 4 water wells with hand-pumps (manual) for 4 different villages in Thar successfully. The depth of these wells is minimum 300 feet, therefore, we use boring method to mount pipe and install these hand-pumps. A single well caters to a village of 40 to 50 families (average size of a family is 8 persons). Under this project, we are targetting atleast 10 villages and approx 500 families.
We are helping humanity in the middle of one of the worlds biggest deserts. The child mortality and women health are directly dependent on availability and easy of access of clean water. Since the location of these water-wells are so far flung deep in the desert, therefore, the impact on lives of these villages and their inhabitants is ground breaking.
