This will allow the clinic to safely transport patients to the nearest hospital inside a medically-outfitted vehicle. Medical staff can safely deliver urgent, emergency medical treatment on route (including midwifery and birth care) instead of delaying care until reaching the hospital, which can negatively affect patient outcomes.
Bumi Sehat Lombok Clinic offers a range of health & birth services in West Lombok (pop 69,000) for 2000+ people each year. Currently, if patients need hospital transport, the process is challenging and relies on whatever vehicle is available, usually a truck (see main photo). In an emergency, medical staff can't treat a patient in a moving truck, have limited medical supplies, and must wait until the patient reaches hospital, delaying vital medical care and negatively impacting patient outcomes.
Bumi Sehat staff can offer emergency care and patient transport to hospital in a safe and fully-equipped medical ambulance. Patients can lie flat on a stretcher and be restrained if the ride is rough. An ambulance will have room for medical staff to treat or stabilize a patient and the equipment and supplies they need to work effectively. This will improve patient outcomes and allow medical treatment to start immediately instead of waiting until the patient reaches the hospital.
Patients can be transported safely to hospital. Medical staff can treat patients on route, in case they need to stabilize them or deliver medical care. This will greatly improve patient health outcomes. Being able to provide ambulance services in West Lombok will also create a better resource for the entire community.
