Bumi Sehat supports vulnerable mothers and children in Bali with nutritious food packages, free medical check-ups, and vitamins. The poverty rate in Bali is about 3.8%. While this may not seem high, many Balinese face malnutrition, risking maternal complications and child stunting. By pairing nourishment with preventative care, this project improves health now and builds a stronger, more resilient future for families in underserved communities.
Families in Bali continue to face food insecurity and limited access to healthcare, particularly for mothers and children. Despite Bali's poverty rate being among the lowest in Indonesia--estimated at 3.8 % in September 2024 (about 176,000 people)--even mild malnutrition can lead to serious maternal hemorrhage during childbirth, weakened immunity, and impaired child development if unaddressed.
Bumi Sehat will deliver nutritious food packages--eggs, rice, vegetables--tailored to family needs, alongside free medical check-ups and high-quality vitamins to 100 families. Our midwives will also offer free prenatal checkups to pregnant women. This community outreach ensures both immediate nourishment and preventative health support, helping mothers and children in underserved areas stay strong, healthy, and connected to early care.
Sustained access to nutrition and healthcare can reduce risks of maternal complications, childhood stunting, and lifelong health impairments. By supporting vulnerable families now, we foster a foundation for healthier generations, improved community resilience, and greater equity--especially vital in regions where poverty still leaves thousands vulnerable.
