PROJECT REPORT
ORGANIZATION: Foundation for Community Development Association, (FCDA) Cameroon
PERIOD: 1st May, 2018- 31st, July 2018.
- Introduction
Foundation for Community Development Association (FCDA) is a non-profit organization which attained legal status in 2017 with headquarters in Limbe, Cameroon. FCDA has an operational office in Mile 3, Nkwen, Bamenda, the North West region of the country. FCDA has three board members, management team increased to 4 members, 6 staff and 3 volunteers.
- Achievements
- FCDA secured partnership with Agro Palms Ltd, a private company in Cameroon into production and sales of quality seeds and palms oil as well as by-products of palms. This partnership was signed on the 1st, june, 2018. This has enabled FCDA to implement best management practices and are generating revenue to cater for activities of the organization. This partnership was signed for a period of five years. Farmers and mainly youths and women involved in cultivation of palms, cassava, maize and plantains have been reached out.
- Our membership portfolio has grown by 100 made up of especially farmers and students
- We have developed and established a digital trading platform to enable producers and consumers of agricultural commodities to get connected through a common platform. The receive sms, emails, and telephone calls on information, trend, market, prices, inputs and sources of capital. We have 7 farmers already registered on this platform.
- We submitted a project titled ‘Digital training center for 100 Kids in Cameroon’ though we have not received any funding for this project.

- We have harvested almost 2 tons of tomatoes and potatoes from our demonstration farm. This has secured revenue to 10 farmers and has gone a long way to improve the families’ livelihoods.
- We are discussing terms and conditions for a volunteer Mobile App developer to strengthen our platform
- Problems
- No fund was raised through our Crowdfunding GG Platform.
- Political instability in the country stalling major actions.
- Need for technical assistance such as professional developers services
- Inadequate revenue sources
- Upcoming Activities
- Launching of Mobile App on the 1st/01/2019
- Workshop on the use of Mobile and Web App to farmers and other stakeholders on the 30/11/2018
- Potentiality
- Partnerships with other organizations enabling advancement in work
- Mobile and Web App will be first of its kind in Cameroon. Farmers are sure to sell their produces.
- We have developed two micro projects to submit to GG Platform. ‘After school Digital Programs for kids’ and ‘Adult Literacy Programs’
- Upcoming campaigns on GG Platform
- Conclusion
We appreciate the work of GlobalGiving team as they are very responsive to our project. We are benefiting from training resources, and recognition from many communities. We are pleading that GG puts in much effort for us to raise funds through the crowdfunding platform. Looking forward to keeping you updated with our project reports.

ORGANIZATION: Foundation for Community Development Association, (FCDA) Cameroon
PERIOD: 1st February, 2017- 30th April, 2018.
- Introduction
Foundation for Community Development Association (FCDA) is a non-profit organization which attained legal status in 2017 with headquarters in Limbe, Cameroon. FCDA has an operational office in Mile 3, Nkwen, Bamenda, the North West region of the country. FCDA has three board members, management team increased to 4 members, 6 staff and 3 volunteers.
- Achievements
- FCDA secured partnership with SK Engineers India for the supply of Briquetting products to communities in North West Region of Cameroon. This is to enable farmers to make use of their waste for the transformation into wealth through briquettes. Also, to produce ensured cleaner, quality and cost effective biofuel energy. We conducted market analysis and it demonstrated that many farmers are willing to embrace these products. This was signed on the 2/04/2018.
- We also secured partnership with UCRIDEF Kampala-Uganda. This is to enable exchange of programs, information, joint fundraising and technology. This was signed on the 28/04/2018.
- Membership of youth farmers increased from 20 to 100 and from 3 Self Help Groups to 7 Self Help Groups. They have receiving training on use of seed capital, best agricultural practices and project writing.
- We have extended our farm demonstration center from 3 hectares to 6 hectares. Growing food stuff such as tomatoes, pepper, cabbage, Irish potatoes, plantains and rearing of chicks.
- Secured volunteers support through the sparked extraordinary for the development of Mobile and Web App for farmers to easily sell their produces and reach out to get more information.
- Problems
- No fund was raised through our Crowdfunding GG Platform.

PERIOD: November 1st, 2017- February 1st, 2018.
- Introduction
Foundation for Community Development Association (FCDA), a nonprofit Organization attained legal status in 2017 with headquarters in Limbe, Cameroon. FCDA has operational office in Mile 3, Nkwen, Bamenda, the North West region of the country. FCDA has three board members, 2 management team members, 3 staff and 2 volunteers.
- Achievements
- Graduated in the GlobalGiving Accelerator crowdfunding campaign 2017. We had 53 Unique Donors and raised $5,128 on our Project ‘Provide Agricultural Funds to 300 Youths Cameroon’ thanks to efforts of GlobalGiving and Individual donors. We confirmed receipt of funds on the 29/01/2018.
- Operational office in Nkwen, with 3 staff and 2 volunteers who have received training on Agricultural Self Help Group Creation, Agriculture data management, ICT and Agriculture and creating network of donors.
- Registered 20 members with 2 Self Help Groups to commence training against upcoming planting season by mid-march 2018
- Purchased farming equipment and tools( 20 cutlasses, 5 spraying machines, 20 booths, 1GPS
- Set up of farm nurseries in Nkwen for Pepper, Cabbage, plantains, and palms.
- Purchased of 8 hectares of farmland in Njinikom, Bamenda.
- Problems
- Need to raise more funds. We spent $4,100.
- Need to secure more partnerships with individuals and Organizations
- Lack of improved seeds and fertilizers as well as farm tools
- Inadequate technical know-how on high efficiency agriculture practices and other sustainable methods
- Inadequate training materials such as books, technology and information gathering tools- Mobile phones
- Upcoming Activities
- Training of youths (both boys and girls) farmers to commence 22/02/2018 against start of Cultivation in mid-march 2018.
- First harvest and sales of some crops such as maize, Groundnut and pepper by 1/07/2018.
- Board meeting to be held on the 5/04/2018.
- Potentiality
- Large and Ready market for food and booming nature of agribusiness in Cameroon
