This project funds access to education for children in rural Kenya, providing tuition, school supplies, a mattress for boarding school, and more. A small donation makes a BIG impact for these eager students: a high school education has the potential to lift an entire family out of poverty.
Many bright and eager students in rural Kenya are unable to attend high school or college because their families cannot afford the school fees. Without the necessary financial resources, these intelligent and hard-working students would languish in their villages, devoid of hope for a chance to escape the cycle of poverty. Many children that do not attend school also do not have the opportunity to receive adequate meals or hygienic resources.
Kenya Keys grants educational sponsorships for students with the greatest need and potential. Students are provided school fees, boarding school necessities such as a mattress and wash bucket, school supplies, transportation, and other essentials. Moreover, the children receive a renewed sense of hope, self esteem, and community.
An education empowers students to secure good jobs and raises educational expectations in their families and villages. These students are also more likely to develop healthily by receiving ongoing nutrition. It significantly improves the quality of life for the students themselves and future generations. Educating students in this region also arms children against the lures of terrorist groups who prey on the poor and uneducated.
