Provide formula to families in need in Thailand

During the 2022 monsoon season our region received an unusually large amount of rainfall. Coupled with a typhoon and the inability to drain water into the ocean fast enough, Ubon Ratchathani had what is now considered its worst flood in history. It's the 2nd highest water level ever recorded but it stayed high for about 2 months and has had an enormous economic impact in the region. Our area depends on rice farming and many fields have been washed out. Many families were trying to get into work by taking a boat and then military trucks into the city. Many others had to leave their homes and live in temporary camps downtown. Our team was able to meet some of the immediate needs of families in flood camps by providing food and supplies, but one of the biggest needs was milk. Working in partnership with the local government, we were able to provide milk to dozens of families with children who needed temporary support. In the last few months our team has continued to make infant formula deliveries to families in need. While many people have returned to their jobs in Bangkok or tourist areas and now have the income to buy formula, inflation has continued to squeeze the budgets of the poor the most. While we're glad to see a reduction in the number of families that need formula, we still aren't back down to the levels we were seeing pre-pandemic. For that reason we will continue meeting the need for formula as needs become known through our healthcare/government network.
